About the Project
The Nocoded project was born to facilitate access to technology education and the necessary skills for developing quality applications through teaching the use of no-code and Low code platforms. The goal was to remove access barriers, such as the cost of formal education or the need for prior knowledge of code or programming logic, for people interested in learning how to develop their applications.
It also seeks to create collaborative learning communities, to generate creative environments where people can support each other and expand their knowledge, not only using the courses designed by the platform's experts.
What were the project goals?
Nocoded was born from asking ourselves how to bring technological tools to everyone, regardless of their technical experience or knowledge level.
At the same time, we were interested in promoting low- and no-code technologies, which have been one of Soluntech's pillars since the company's founding, since we consider them disruptive technologies that help advance the digitalization of the world.
With this idea, we decided to create a platform that would allow us to train people on different platforms and give them tools to either work as freelancers developing no- and low-code apps for others or create apps that could become startups. This platform aims to improve employability, reduce the technological gap, and promote innovation and entrepreneurship in Spanish-speaking countries.
Platform Ideas
Nocoded intends to be different from other online education platforms where the lecture model is reproduced with a teacher who imparts knowledge and students who only passively absorb it.
The Nocoded methodology is a project-based training in which students support each other and build knowledge together.
Students carry out the proposed projects with no classes or practical sessions supervised by a teacher. They are free to organize their schedules, help each other in the execution of their projects, and at the same time, they are responsible for their correction and assessment.
That is why Nocoded gives a lot of strength to the student community and encourages collaboration and review among peers, convinced that this is the best way to enjoy while acquiring new knowledge.
The Challenge
The project presented several challenges. First, we wanted to be consistent with the mindset that no-code is a powerful development tool, so we had to build the entire platform on Bubble. In addition, we wanted to give the certificates of completion of the courses a plus and not leave them only as an image or a PDF document; therefore, we needed to create a smart contract to generate these certificates with NFTs within the polygon blockchain.
The Results
Finally, the result was creating an education platform that, in its interface, is similar to any other educational platform, where students can create an account and take the courses for free. In addition, two different types of profiles were also added, the "expert" intended for people who are going to curate and create the courses of the platform, and "companies" since we want to promote employability and the hiring of experts both for the development of applications and for consultancies in low and no-code technologies.
Bubble
The desire to create Nocoded as a no-code development is the natural response to wanting to highlight the capabilities of this type of platform. It would not be logical for us to praise the capabilities of this technology and not use it ourselves. Among the possibilities of platforms, we chose Bubble because it allows a total customization of the platform and supports blockchain elements such as the code of smart contracts for NFT certificates. It is also a platform that will enable us to grow without leaving the bubble ecosystem, which means that our platform can be maintained in the long term and does not need to migrate to another platform or develop from scratch in the short or medium term.
